Old Wacom Intuos 3 tablet giveaway (closed)
Alright, my little poll showed a slight interest in my old Wacom tablet, so I decided to give it away to someone who can use it. As it is very old (about 15 years) and not of much value anymore, I don't want anything in return, I'd just like to have the shipping costs in advance. The tablet has several signs of use but it still works fine and I painted all paintings in my gallery with it (except the latest two). Technical data: Wacom Intuos 3 PTZ-631W Pen Tablet Size "A4" (28,5 cm * 16,5 cm active area, whole tablet is about 42 cm * 25 cm large), USB Pen with 1024 pressure levels and 2 keys, pen holder So, how does this work? If you are interested, just write it in a comment under this journal and if there is more than one person interested until 9th of August, I'll draw a name by using a random number generator :) Please be aware that the shipping costs from Germany could exceed the product value depending on where you live. So I think everything outside EU would not make much

Contest: The Student Becomes the Master
Hello all, I've been trying to think of different types of contests that wouldn't be too difficult, since I know we're all exhausted from surviving 2020. This will be the first type of contest/challenge we've done in a while, considering how much things have changed since the site update, so hopefully it works out well. Of course, we're always open to your feedback and suggestions! The Prompt The prompt is simple: use one (or more) of the tutorials that have been posted through @projecteducate to create artwork that you'll submit as an entry to this contest. While at first this may seem only relevant to beginners in any art medium, we do also have tutorials for more advanced artists. Furthermore, you can try your hand at a different art medium, or a different style of art you might not be familiar with. Some tutorials go beyond just telling you something basic like "how to draw a horse" and instead discuss matters of style. Also, some tutorials don't have to do with the artwork
The Misconception Behind 'Study Realism' by barananduen, journal
The Misconception Behind 'Study Realism'
ART ADVICE ISSUE #10 - THE MISCONCEPTION BEHIND "STUDY REALISM" Most people who draw anime/cartoons have, while asking for ways to improve, at one point or another been told to "study realism." A common response to this is, "But I don't want to draw realism!" But, did you know that the purpose behind this suggestion is NOT so that you draw realism? They're not suggesting you change to a more realistic style. What, then? Let's look at this through an analogy: Say you don't know music yet and decide you want to learn how to play the Happy Birthday song. You're not interested in playing anything else, just the HB song, and you haven't started learning anything related to music at this point. OK, that's fine, and now we have our situation set up. Once you've decided this, you set yourself to learning the sequence of notes to the HB song. You practice and practice, and, after a while, you can play it really well without a hitch. After a few years, it starts feeling bland to you, and
